ABOUT ME
B A C K S T O R Y
I got my start thanks to Hurricane Productions co-founder Vincent Velasquez. We met at St. John Vianney High School and played on the baseball team together. In June of 2011, I reached out to Vincent about freelance photography work and I was put on my first gig. It was a Bat Mitzvah held at the event space of PNC Bank Arts Center, and from there I earned a spot in the rotation of photographers.
As I continued to shoot events for Hurricane, I eventually sought to increase my responsibilities and value with the company. I participated in a training session with one of the lighting techs which inspired me to do everything I could to further my education in the field.
My ambition and desire to learn new skills allowed me to take on other work like video and graphic design while dabbling in some web work too. These added skillsets came from Hurricane’s other co-founder, Strato Doumanis. If you know Strato, he’s a tech genius and I was fortunate to absorb some of that knowledge.
The things I have learned while working at Hurricane…they are what I am most passionate about in the professional space. It fuels my drive to create. As their Director of Operations, I’ve learned one of the most important things to remember is don’t be afraid to think outside the box. Sometime’s those are the greatest of ideas. Be different, stand out and always give it your best. That’s what every single one of my team members gives at Hurricane. The drive, the passion…makes for one incredible place of creatives to collaborate. It’s a place I’m thankful to call home.
